Bratislava’s popular shopping mall officially returned to its iconic Polus name after seven years, and it’s now undergoing a major revamp. The main goal? Significantly improving the indoor climate for both visitors and tenants—and that’s where our KLIMAK team comes in.
As part of the renovation, we’re completely upgrading the ventilation and cooling systems. We’re installing modern FläktGroup technology to ensure more efficient airflow, lower energy consumption, and optimal indoor comfort throughout selected areas.
Tricky Logistics and High-Altitude Moves
Major upgrades during full mall operations always bring engineering challenges. The most exciting part of the job was getting heavy HVAC equipment straight onto the roof—our team used a crane to safely hoist over 5 tons of gear into the air.
What We’re Working On:
-
New HVAC Units & Ductwork: We’re delivering and installing new FläktGroup units with water heaters and coolers, along with fresh galvanized steel ductwork, fittings, hanging systems, and accessories.
-
Heating & Cooling: We’re fitting heating and cooling pipe networks, complete with valves, control elements, and high-quality insulation.
-
Demolition & Rearrangement: We’re safely taking down old fans and reorganizing existing rooftop units.
Key Numbers from the Project:
-
5+ Tons in the Air: A crane lifted 4 fans and 2 large HVAC units (split into 7 packages) straight to the roof.
-
Demolition: We safely removed 4 old fans weighing a total of 744 kg.
-
Rearrangement: We repositioned 8 existing units right on the roof.
