GDPR
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a European Union regulation that governs and replaces the previous law on personal data protection. It is currently coming into effect within the EU territory. GDPR is aimed at safeguarding the fundamental rights of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data.
One of the key principles is to respect the privacy and family life of individuals and to ensure the safekeeping of sensitive information about others.
Although GDPR was approved in 2016, the comprehensive set of rules for data protection will become enforceable on May 25, 2018. By this date, all organizations must revise and unify their information systems and procedures for handling data. The flow of data within the Union is supported, and the regulation ensures a high level of protection against the misuse of sensitive information.
