KLIMAK provided HVAC solutions for BIODOM SPU in Nitra
The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra features a new, technologically advanced greenhouse facility named BIODOM. This unique project combines an academic environment, modern technologies, and an educational center with a lecture hall. For our team at KLIMAK, this represented a highly interesting challenge. We delivered comprehensive ventilation, heating, and cooling systems tailored to this demanding indoor environment.
When microclimate determines success
Plant cultivation in a modern greenhouse requires continuous and absolutely precise temperature and humidity control. Therefore, we carefully considered the permanently high air humidity during the ventilation design process. Our answer was stainless steel ducting. This choice guarantees maximum hygienic standards and long-term corrosion resistance.
Four air handling units ensure continuous air exchange and an optimal microclimate. They achieve a total impressive output of up to 28,000 m³/h. The system responds flexibly to the needs of sensitive flora. At the same time, it provides maximum thermal comfort for students and visitors of the educational center.
Eco-friendly source of heat and cold
A highly efficient heat pump forms the heart of the entire energy solution. It serves as a central source of cooling with a capacity of 335 kW and heating with a capacity of 262 kW. With this solution, we confirm our commitment to delivering technologies with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability.
Underfloor heating ensures even and comfortable heat distribution during winter. Modern fancoil units handle cooling distribution and flexible regulation in individual zones.
The BIODOM SPU project proves that modern technologies can create a stable and reliable environment. They can handle even the most demanding projects where science, nature, and education connect.
